The Carlson Center is Northern Alaska's Premier entertainment, sports and meeting facility! Our capabilities range from hockey games to concerts, trade shows to circuses, and conventions to basketball camps.
The story goes that Little Big Town met in 1998 after realizing that their voices sounded good together. Around 1999 they signed a deal with Mercury Records only to see it fall through over creative differences. In 2000, Monument Records, part of Sony Nashville, decided to sign the foursome to a contract which included complete creative control.

STAGING - SICO Portable Staging Equipment Main stage 40' x 50', with two additional 12' x 12' sound wings. Height varies from 4' to 6' & 6 inches Mixing platform 12' x 12', height varies from 8 inches to 24 inches. 6 foot x 60 inch crowd barrier.
SHOW POWER - Three 400 amp, 3 phase ] 10' from rear-end of stage; Two 200 amp, 3 phase ] 25' from center stage. Three 400 amp, 3 phase on side walls.
HOUSE LIGHTING - Combination of metal halide and quartz lighting. Spotlighting includes four Xenon Super Troupers.
SOUND - Main arena features a 5,000 watt, center hung Electro-Voice load speaker. Public address system controlled at balcony level sound room, courtside during sporting events, or backstage during concerts. Center includes a production sound system, intercom system, public areas sound system, and complete audio/visual capabilities in all meeting rooms.
DRESSING ROOMS - Two star dressing rooms, Two double locker rooms, Show office.
LOADING & UNLOADING - Service entrance on the north side of the facility; doors are 16' x 16'; loading area climate controlled and weather sheltered.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL - The Center has a forklift, hoists, spotlights and A/V equipment for rent. Additionally, the Center has pipe and drape and an electrical distribution system in-house to accommodate trade shows.
BOX OFFICE SERVICES - Ticketmaster Automated System. Carlson Center Box Office with three outlets in the area. Charge-by-phone using Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
PARKING - 1,600 parking spaces.
SECURITY, USHERING, FIRST AID & JANITORIAL SERVICES - Provided by Center at an additional charge.

Mission Statement: "Constructed by public funds, the Center will operate to enhance the quality of life for residents of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The primary goal of the Center, through user fees, will be to generate sufficient revenues to pay operation and maintenance expenses and to provide the opportunity for a profit."
