So I've tried to come up with a suitable newsletter for August. After a round of writers block, I decided to turn on the news to get some ideas of what's going on to talk about. Apparently aside from someone smuggling a pigmy marmot through JFK and a principal of a Manhattan tech school getting fired for dousing her office in chicken blood in a Santeria ritual, the only other thing in the news is that it is gawd awful hot! So if an entire paid staff of reports cant come up with anything better – screw it – we're gonna talk about how hot it is! It's August and its miserable hot!
But here at New York Bar Store (look out – here it comes…) we're just getting heated up! The dong days are here and your best bet is to grab a cold drink, crank up the AC and, well, do nothing. We'll keep scouring the web, bars and supply warehouses for the hottest new products and smokin' deals – we'll leave the chillin' up to you.
Tijuana Carbomb Drink
You know, there are so many drinks that are awesome, cool and refreshing on a hot summer day. The drink below is none of these things. But just like hot coffee in the desert, it should get a good sweat going, help cool you off a little bit. And if nothing else, after your third one you'll likely be much less aware of the heat and humidity (but the haze will certainly still be a factor)
How it's done:
Pour bottle of corona in a pint glass (avoid pouring too much head). Fill glass no more than 2/3 full. On the side, prepare a shotglass filled to the rim with tequila (hint hint - we're sellin' these above!). Drop shot glass in beer and chug. Mmmm...now that's refreshment.
