As you can see, we're a bit behind in sending this out this month. It has been a CRAZY month so far! We have been preparing for, exhibiting in and recovering from the New York Bar Show at the Javits center last weekend. It's always a blast when the bar show is in town...New York + bar industry professionals = one hell of a party. We had bartender and writer Shawn Soole ( http://www.newyorkbarstore.com/bartending/ ) fly in from Canada to attend and compete in the cocktail mixology competition. We got to meet up with a bunch of ours suppliers, make some new contacts, saw some new products and more than anything met a BUNCH of interesting characters! Thanks to everyone there who signed up and are receiving their first news letter.
And now back to the grind..
The Mamba (Drink)
This month, we have a drink submission from subscriber and friend Mike McSorley. This is a popular one in the Houston area that we are happy to pass along. In fact, we suggest that everyone have a crazy friend drinking buddy from Texas - they can be a hell of a resource!
This drink makes me wish I had a back porch on my apartment, cuz if so I'd be on it right now drinking one!
1 Can Frozen Limeade
Tequila
12 pack Tecate Beer
12 pack 7-Up
Cut the Frozen Limeade can in half (You will use this as your measuring
device)
Pour the half can of frozen limeade into the blender
2 - half cans of Tequila (Or 1 half can for you Yankee lightweights)
Fill blender 3/4 full of ice and blend on high until smooth
1 - half can of Tecate Beer
1 - half can of 7-Up
Blend on SLOW until mixed in. The beer and 7-up will fizz if you blend
too fast.
It may take a couple of tries to get the ice mixture right without
overflowing the blender but it will be well worth it.
This is a great drink for the "heat" of the summer.
